Mrs.Candy Sue Stouffer, 63, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with ALS. She was the wife of her high school sweetheart David Allen Stouffer Sr., her husband of 47 years whom she married in January, 1980.
Born August 18, 1962, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lester Robert "Pete" Clark and Phyllis Elaine Lum Lushbaugh Clark. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1980.
Candy her husband enjoyed traveling together with family, building their business known at Stouffer’s Tag & Title and Automotive, which they started in 1986 and was once known as Clark’s Auto Body. Her career went beyond being a business owner. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Washington County Board of Education, among other positions, and in retail, retiring as a Territory Manager for Hallmark.
Candy was very strong in her faith and helped build River of Life Family Worship Center, Clear Spring, as a member.
She enjoyed, in her free time, cooking, learning new recipes, as well as being a wonderful quilter. She was part of the quilting club at the former Traditions at the White Swan, as well as the the Antietam Quilting Guild, both of Hagerstown. She made many friends and enjoyed going to retreats with the Round Robin group. Most of all, she greatly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Besides her husband, Candy is survived by sons David Stouffer, Jr. and wife Nicole of Clear Spring, Eddie Stouffer and wife Nikki, and Kevin and Ashton Stouffer, all of Hagerstown; by grandchildren Alyssa, Sophia, Trey and Hailey; brothers Donald Clark, and Dennis Clark and wife Mirela; as well as nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Candy was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Roxanne Clark in December, 2017.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family. Family and friends will gather at her church, River of Life Family Worship Center, 12312 Orebank Road, Clear Spring, to say their good byes on Monday, May 11, beginning at 10:00 AM, and until a service begins at the church at 12:00 PM. Rev. Mary Alice Clever Douglas will officiate. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring.
