Elizabeth “Beth” Knecht Armel passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015, at home after a brave battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael V. Armel, her most devoted husband of 34 years.
Beth was born on May 4, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Selma Knecht, whose loving arms she is in once again. She graduated from West Orange (NJ) High School and lived in Hagerstown, Maryland for the last 45 years. A masterful sales person and deal-closer, she spent her 21-year career at Blaine Window Hardware as a leader in national sales. A loving caregiver to her parents, Beth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her many friends and extended family, both near and far.
Beth was a member of Congregation B’Nai Abraham for most of her years in Hagerstown. She was proud of recently helping to develop a new graphic for the synagogue web site. She had served in the temple sisterhood. Beth also enjoyed teaching Sunday School when her daughter was young.
Besides her husband, Beth is survived by her loving daughter Rebecca (Dornbusch) Bittle and husband Christopher; and her granddaughter, Dory Elizabeth Bittle.
