Lois Levin Holstine

January 22, 1924 — October 26, 2016

Mrs. Lois Duitch Levin Holstine, 92, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Fahrney – Keedy Home, Boonsboro.  She was the wife of the late Benjamin Levin, her husband of 38 years who died the same date in 1984; and of the late Phillip Holstine who died in 2004, following an 18 year marriage.

Born on January 22, 1924, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Bella Rubinsohn Duitch.  She graduated Coatesville (Pennsylvania) High School; and attended the University of Alabama.

Mrs. Levin was co-owner of Alan’s Shoes in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Congregation B’Nai Abraham.

Surviving are her sons, Alan Levin and wife Susan, and Bruce Levin and wife Renee; her grandchildren, Elisa Kinnee and husband Kevin, Stephanie Sinoway and husband Mike, Dr. Michelle Bode and husband Greg, and Zachary Levin; and her great grandchildren, Jordyn, Haidyn and Reid Kinnee, Max and Alexandra Sinoway, and Noma and Dean Bode.

Besides her husbands and parents, Mrs. Levin was preceded in death by her brother Newton Duitch, who died in 1997.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.  There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be Sunday, October 30, at 1:00 PM, at B’Nai Abraham Cemetery, 17517 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown.  Rabbi Ariel D. Plost will officiate.

The omission of flowers is requested.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Levin’s namte to Congregation B’Nai Abraham, 53  East Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, Maryland  21740; or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland  21742, to benefit Doey’s House.
