Dr. Robert Edward Weiss

October 28, 1951 — February 20, 2024


Dr. Robert Edward “Bob” Weiss, 72, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  He was the husband of Barbara Livov Weiss.


Born October 28, 1951, in Hagerstown, he was a son of the late Bernard and Gloria Denton Weiss


Bob served his community as a pediatrician for 36 years.


He was a dedicated member of B’nai Abraham synagogue, singing in the choir, and teaching Hebrew.


Bob loved music, travel, and learning languages.


In addition to his wife, he is survivied by two sons, Geoffrey and Aaron Weiss; brother David Weiss and wife Carolyn; his stepmother Renee Weiss; stepsiblings Wayne and Hilarie Viener; and cousin Richard Weiss.


The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family with arrangements.  A graveside services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at B’nai Abraham Cemetery, 17517 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown.


The omission of flowers is requested.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dr. Weiss’s memory to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Maryland  21740; the Washington County Commission on Aging, Inc., to benefit Meals on Wheels, 535 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740;  or to the charity of your choice.
