Shirley Ann Miller Chaney

Mrs. Shirley Ann Miller Chaney, 90, of Hagerstown, died Sunday evening, March 1, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Chaney, who died in August, 1987.

Born May 19, 1935, in Bethesda, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Hugh, Sr., and Mary Madeline Dye Miller.

She was a member of the former First Baptist Church, Hagerstown, now Hagerstown Church.

She was a lady with strong faith and a very sweet disposition. She enjoyed watching the METV Network, and very much enjoyed television programs from the 1900’s, such as the Rifleman.

Surviving are her children Tammy Chaney and long-time companion James “Arnie” Henderson of Hagerstown, Pattie Chaney and long-time companion David Martin of Pennsylvania, Robert Chaney and wife Jacqueline and Christopher Lee Chaney and wife Michelle, all of Hagerstown; by four grandchildren Veronica Brandenburg, Thomas and Joshua Whittington, and Dale Webb, Jr.; nine great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild; as well as by her brother Franklin Miller, Jr., of New Hampshire, and various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Catherine Henry; her grandchildren Ray Moats and Tiffany Webb; and brothers Robert and Dennis Miller.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. A funeral service will be held graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown, on Friday, March 6, at 11:00 AM. Her pastor, Rev. Joshua D. McClain, will officiate.
