Sylvia Jane Frank

Ms. Sylvia Jane Frank, 66, of Boonsboro, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born June 12, 1959, in York, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Janko and Ruth Ora Caltrider Frank.

She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and earned associate degrees from Hagerstown Business College and Baltimore Community College.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Sylvia worked for many years at Sheetz, where she was known for her friendly spirit and positive attitude. She was an inspiration to those around her and touched many lives with her kindness. She proudly served on the Board of Horizon Goodwill Industries, reflecting her deep commitment to helping others and serving her community.

She is survived by her only sibling, John Frank and his wife, Heidemarie, of Vernon, Connecticut; her niece, Erika Shaughnessy, her husband, Kevin, and their daughter, Heidi, of Coventry, Connecticut; and her nephew, Jonathan Frank and his wife, Nicolle, of Greenwich, Connecticut.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved aunt and uncle, Guenter and Helen Leibinger of Ludwigsburg, Germany.

Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Family and friends are invited to gather at the Chapel at Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, on Friday, April 18, beginning at 9:30 AM, with a memorial service celebrating Sylvia’s life to follow at 10:00 AM.  The Chaplain, Rev. Dana A. Mersereau, will officiate.  Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Sylvia’s name to Horizon Goodwill Industries, 14515 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742.
