Wayne Wentz

September 8, 1921 — March 26, 2015

Mr. Wayne Leon Wentz, 93, of Williamsport, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Williamsport Nursing Home.  He was the husband of the late Irene Elizabeth Lum Wentz, who died October 25, 2012.

Born September 8, 1921, in Blain, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Robert Paul and Ruth B. Book Wentz.  He graduated from Biglerville (Pennsylvania) High School.

Mr. Wentz was employed 41 years with Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown; and retired in 1983.

He was a member of Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, where he served as church treasurer.

Surviving are his children, Margaret I. Nyce of Aztec, New Mexico, and Terry W. Wentz and wife Gloria of Cumberland; his grandchildren Michael R. Nyce, Krista N. Anderson, Timothy A. Nyce, Kerry Shand, Jon M. Nyce, and Tammy Massey; seventeen great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren; and his brother, Edwin C. Wentz of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Wentz was preceded in death by daughters Darlene E. and Kathy L. Wentz; and a brother Donald E. Wentz.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.  The family will receive friends at his church, Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, on Wednesday, April 1, from 12:30 to 1:00 PM.  The funeral service will begin at the church on Wednesday at 1:00 PM with his pastor, Rev. Linda M. Alessandri officiating.  Interment will follow in nearby Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wentz’s name to his church, Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Maryland  21742.
