Christine E. (Rohrer) DOUB

December 21, 1931 ~ November 12, 2019 (age 87)


Mrs. Christine Rohrer Doub, 87, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday evening, November 12, 2019, at her residence.


Born December 21, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Brown and Ella Ray Whittington Rohrer.  She was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and 1953 graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree; and later, received her Masters Degree.


Mrs. Doub was a retired school teacher with the Washington County Board of Education.


She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Cavetown.


Additionally, Mrs. Doub was a member of DAR, Antietam Chapter and Washington County Teacher’s Association; charter member of Northwood Swim Club; former member of the Women’s Club; and member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, having served as Second Vice President.


Surviving are her children, Lisa A. Doub of Hagerstown, and Robert R. Caruthers of Boonsboro; and grandchildren, Robert Benjamin and Lauren Renee Caruthers.


Besides her parents, Mrs. Doub was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lee Gowen.


The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.  There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 1:00 PM, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with Rev. Billy J. McPherson officiating.  A reception will follow services.  Those attending the graveside service should assemble at the entrance by the lake for a procession to gravesite.
