Michael Smith

Mr. Michael Curtis Smith, 58, of Hagerstown, died suddenly, Friday, October 18, 2019, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born May 8, 1961, in Canton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Arthur and Margaret Louise Thomas Smith.  He attended Musselman High School, Inwood, West Virginia.

He worked formerly as a welder, not just for himself as Mike's Welding Service, but offered his talents to other welding businesses.

Michael was devoted; able to recite Bible verses and speak about scripture.  He formerly enjoyed racing motorcycles.

Surviving are daughters, Tiffany Ann and Kaylin Marie Smith, both of Hagerstown; his granchildren, Xavier Jace Smith, McCinzie Leigh Myers and Jaelyn Marie Smith; and siblings Arthur Wayne, Ramona Jane and Finley Gregory Smith, Cherie Arlene Howlett, and Terry Lee, Debbie Kay and Philip Glen Smith.

Beside his parents, Michael was preceded in death by siblings Aloma Rose Golliday and Denny Thomas.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Saturday, November 9, from 12:00 PM until the memorial service begins at 1:00 PM.  His brother-in-law, Rev. Daniel D. Smith, will officiate.
