Philip Goldman

March 18, 1933 — July 31, 2019

Mr. Philp G. Goldman, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, July 31, 2019, peacefully at his residence.  He was the husband of Mrs. Janet Goldman.

Born March 18, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, he was son of the late Solly and Evelyn Goldman.  He received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from NYU in 1955.

Mr. Goldman worked at RCA Astro Electronic Division in New Jersey as a Lead Engineer; as a Stock Broker for Shearson Hammill in Jersey City, NJ; as an Inventory Control-Office Manager for Newark Steel Products; and with Pangborn, a Division of Standard Oil of Ohio.

After his retirement, he was a substitute teacher with the Washington County Public Schools, serving mostly at Smithsburg High School.

Besides his wife, Mr. Goldman is survived by his son, Lee and wife Jayne of Marblehead, MA; and daughter, Jennifer of Virginia; his grandchildren, Lisa and Steven Goldman of Marblehead, and Sterling and Hunter Heyns of Marshall, VA; a sister, Roberta Ambrosino, of Saratoga Springs, NY; and nieces Tania Brabble of FL, Robin Hurteau of Saratoga Springs, and Jill Ambrosino of CA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Goldman.

Friends may visit the family at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown on Saturday, September 7, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, for a celebration of his life.
