Renee Kramer

June 6, 1930 — January 10, 2022

Renee Kramer, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Hagerstown on January 10, 2022.  Born on June 6, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, she and her husband Fred moved to Hagerstown in 1953, fell in love with Washington County, and never left.  Renee is preceded in death by her brother Herbert Seigel and her parents Kate and Louis Seigel.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years Fred Kramer, and by her three sons: Michael (Peggy), Andrew (Fazidah) and Richard (Lauren), their children Kimberly (Ash), Melissa (Andrew), Adam, Alia, Amelia, Gillian (Greg), Elizabeth (Patrick), and Adrienne, and by her great grandchildren Alley, Wyatt, Collier and Rhett.

Renee earned her bachelor’s degree in History with honors from Hood College in 1978, summa cum laude, and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi.  After serving as the Director for the Center for Educational Resources for Hood College (1978 - 1988), she proudly worked supporting the operations of Oral and Facial Surgery until shortly before her death. Renee loved her work and was well known for her steel-trap memory, inspiring joy throughout the office.

Dedicated to her local community, Renee served on multiple committees as a longstanding member of the Congregation B’nai Abraham and on the boards of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and Kaplan University.

Renee loved reading, travel, the Baltimore Ravens, and her family above all.
